Logistics Health Safety Security and Environment

Accidents, and particularly street and highway accidents, do not happen – they are caused. - Ernest Greenwood

If you want to work with the best clients, you cannot have accidents and if you want top tier rewards, you need to be a top tier business. Stakeholders in today’s complex logistics environment do not accept poor health, safety and environmental performance.  Unnecessary costs, injuring staff, alienating local communities and dangerous reputation risks are not acceptable business models.

The SAT approach to health, safety and development is built upon four key factors;

Technology, 2) Competency, 3) Management 4) Culture.

We specialise in leveraging connected technologies particularly in the areas of journey management and driver development programmes but also in fields such as the cold chain, warehouse management and security control.  However we recognise that some of the most effective risk controls are based upon simple, practical administrative interfaces that linking humans to clever technological solutions.  SAT consultants therefore focus much of their attention on developing, motivating and equipping your people at every level of your business with the competencies and administrative tools they need.  We do this through formal training as well as informal coaching and mentoring.

SAT also offers practical and technical guidance in the planning, development and implementation of your health, safety and environmental management system.  This will be the backbone to your business, supporting long-term resilience, sustainable growth and efficient risk controls.  It is only with such a strong management base that your health, safety and environmental culture will develop into an enduring competitive advantage.

We can support every aspect of health, safety and environmental management including the development of policies and procedural frameworks and wide range of different risk assessment and control philosophies.  SAT also offer ad-hoc specialist support when you need to manage those out of the ordinary one off jobs or if you need that extra muscle when bidding for high value contracts with demanding clients.

Unlike many other consultancies SAT consultants have worked at every level of the logistics world.  They understand the needs of both your board and the frontline operational reality faced by those people who actually have to deliver your service to your clients.

Seven children are killed or seriously injured on Britain's roads every day and the annual cost of these deaths and injuries is £547 million.

Source:  Child Accident Prevention Trust

The total value of prevention of reported road accidents in 2014 was estimated to be £16.3 billion, an increase of 11 per cent compared with the same estimate made in 2013 (not taking into account inflation). This sum encompasses all aspects of the valuation of casualties, including the human costs which reflect pain, grief and suffering; the direct economic costs of lost output and the medical costs associated with road accident injuries. The figure includes an estimate of the cost of damage only accidents but does not allow for unreported accidents. - See more at: http://www.racfoundation.org/motoring-faqs/safety#a10
